Our Mission
The mission of the Government Nehru College Alumni Association is to foster a strong, enduring bond among its alumni, the college, and its current students. We strive to create a vibrant community that supports the growth and development of the college, promotes lifelong learning, and contributes positively to society.

We envision a thriving network of Government Nehru College alumni who actively engage in initiatives that uplift the college's prestige, support academic excellence, and provide invaluable mentorship and resources to the next generation of leaders from Dongargarh and beyond.

Development and welfare: Development and welfare of the college.
Talent & Activities: Encouragement of local talent in sports, cultural, and educational fields and organization of activities.
Environmental protection: Environmental protection.
Honoring social workers: Honoring social workers.
Social Awareness: Public awareness to eradicate superstition and social evils.
Polythene-free city: Public awareness to make the city polythene-free.
Employment guidance: Employment guidance.
Membership
Patron Member
Any person who donates Rs. 5000 or more to the organization in one lump sum or in twelve installments in a year will be a patron member of the committee.
Lifetime Member
Any person who donates Rs. 3000 or more to the organization will be a lifetime member.
General Member
Any person who gives Rs. 42 per month or Rs. 500 per year as a subscription to the committee will be a general member.
Honorable Member
The management of the organization can make any person or persons an honorary member for a fixed period as they deem fit. Such members can participate in the general meeting but will not have the right to vote on any subject.
Membership Acquisition
Every person interested in becoming a member of the committee must submit a written application to the management committee. The management committee is free to accept or reject such applications.
Member's Eligibility
- Age: Must not be less than 18 years.
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
- Commitment: Must be committed to following the rules of the committee.
- Character: Must be of good character and not a drinker.
Termination of Membership
Membership of the organization may be terminated in the following situations:
- Death: Upon death.
- Incapacity: Upon becoming insane.
- Non-Payment: If the subscription amount is not paid as per the rules.
- Resignation: Upon acceptance of a resignation letter.
- Expulsion: Upon being expelled from the association due to a character defect as per the decision of the executive committee.
General Body: Rights & Duties
- Annual Reports: Accept the annual report and progress report of the previous year.
- Property Management: Manage the permanent fund and property of the organization.
- Auditor Appointment: Appoint auditors for the coming year.
- Financial Approval: Approve the income and expenditure statements submitted by the management.
- Budget Approval: Approve the budget.
Management Committee
Formation
The management committee will be constituted by a majority vote of the members mentioned in the rules whose names are registered in the member register. It will include the following office bearers and members: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Secretary, and 2 members.
Term of Office
The term of the management committee will be three years.
Management Committee: Rights & Duties
- Achieve Objectives: To achieve the objectives for which the committee was formed.
- Submit Reports: To submit the fully audited income and expenditure accounts of the previous year along with the progress report at the general body meeting every year.
- Financial Management: To pay the salaries and allowances of the employees and teachers under the committee and to pay taxes on the movable and immovable property of the organization.
- Appointments: To appoint employees and teachers.
- Other Duties: To perform other necessary duties assigned by the general body from time to time.
- Property Ownership: All movable and immovable property of the organization will be in the name of the executive committee.
Other Rules & Policies
Bank Operation
All funds of the organization will be kept in a scheduled bank or post office, and funds will be withdrawn with the joint signatures of the President or Secretary and the Treasurer.
Amendment
Amendments to the constitution of the organization will be passed by a 2/3 majority of the total members in the general body meeting.
Dissolution
The dissolution of the organization will be passed by a 3/5 majority of the total members of the general body. After dissolution, the movable and immovable property of the organization will be handed over to an organization with similar objectives.
Property
All movable and immovable property of the organization will be in the name of the organization. The immovable property cannot be acquired or transferred without the written permission of the Registrar.
Disputes
In case of any dispute in the organization, the President will have the right to resolve the dispute with the approval of the general body. The decision of the registrar in this regard will be final and binding on all members.
